Issue: Extending the taskbar.not cloning, not a second taskbar.but extending the original taskbar across two monitors.I used to have a Matrox P650 that would extend the desktop by creating a screen with a resolution of 2560x1024.This effectively spanned the taskbar across two monitors by creating an extra wide, normal height display.

Extending Taskbar Across Multiple Monitors Trial Key SoDisplayFusion doesnt seem to do the same as UltraMon given its menu options, but I need to request a trial key so that I can actually enable the taskbar features. Should I give up and go back to either XP or my slow Matrox card Or is there an option Im missing. If I load Matrox Powerdesk from the system tray I get the option to set stretched mode and this extends the taskbar across 2 windows. You might want to look into ATI Eyefinity which basically allows for a large desktop like you mentioned above. Did you try the Ultramon RC (3.0.9), or the stable version (2.7.1) They add support for Win7 in the 3.x version; I havent tried it, so I cant say how good it is, but I found it to be the best solution on VistaXP. Its how we used to run multi-monitor gaming before it was a sliver more supported like now. I cant tell you if the taskbar adapted however, or if it does now unfortunately. Alternatively, Ive heard that UltraMon is the next best thing. Theres also ZBar, but it doesnt sound like what youre looking for. I do seem to remember Ultramon having the feature you mention way back in the day, mostly because it annoyed me. I couldnt easily find confirmation of that though, nor would it be all that useful for you. Yup. Actually trying it now.it doesnt have the functionality Im looking for (extended taskbar). I suppose I could get used to UltraMons smart taskbar, but for now I keep looking in the far left corner for the clock which isnt there. TBH, Im pretty fond of having my taskbar mounted on the side with Win7, especially with a widescreen monitor. Unlike XP Vista, a side-mounted taskbar actually feels like a first class citizen rather than an afterthought. I know youre probably not looking to alter your workflow, but it might be worth a thought. Since youre looking for an extended taskbar, it doesnt seem that youre concerned with slinging the mouse onto the primary monitor to get to your tasks. You also get the same number of vertical pixels on both monitors, assuming that both monitors have the same vertical resolution.
